The Artist
Aurora Mazzoldi is a painter and author. Her research grows out of the observation of human relationships and of the inner movements that often escape awareness.
In her paintings, gesture, gaze, posture and colour become a symbolic language. The title opens one possible reading without exhausting the meaning of the image: the work remains a space in which the viewer can recognise something of their own experience.
Poetics and language
Aurora Mazzoldi’s painting moves between figuration and symbolism. Human figures, rarefied grounds, chromatic contrasts and at times dreamlike compositions give shape to relationships, emotions, conflicts and inner transformations.
A painting is not made to provide an answer, but to make a question visible.
Recurring in her research are the relationship between freedom and dependence, the need for control, the masks of identity, solitude, change and the possibility of observing oneself with greater awareness.
Artistic path
Since 2003 Aurora Mazzoldi has exhibited in Italy and abroad.
Her career includes exhibitions and events in museums, institutional venues and galleries — among them Agora Gallery in New York, the Museo Roca in Buenos Aires, the Museo d’Arte Bellini in Florence, the Castello del Buonconsiglio and the University of Trento — as well as her participation in the Esposizione Triennale di Arti Visive in Rome.
Her painting has been the subject of reviews and critical essays, and some works are documented in art-market archives and databases.

Painting, writing and inner research
Alongside painting, Aurora Mazzoldi has developed over time a practice of writing and public engagement.
From 2015 to 2021 she was a founding member of the Osservatorio Interiore a.p.s., within which she edited content devoted to Introspective Art and took part in talks, meetings and exhibitions.
She has published books devoted to inner research as well as narrative works, more recently adding to her writing the podcast series La Voce dell’Artista, in which she starts from a painting to guide the viewer into its symbolic meaning.
